The Backstory

Hello! I’m Cristian Medina, Ottawa-based photographer and the eye behind Urban Wild Views.

Photography has been part of my life for over 20 years, beginning when I first left home. What started as a way to document new places, people, and experiences quickly became a way to stay connected to others, and to the moments that mattered most.

​

My work evolved when Ottawa became my home in 2018. Exploring the city pushed me beyond casual photography and into a more intentional practice, where I began to focus on composition, perspective, and visual storytelling.

​

For me, photography is about seeing differently. I’m drawn to the lines, patterns, and colors that often go unnoticed, and I aim to turn everyday scenes into something striking and unexpected.

My work brings together the contrasts of urban life and the calm of natural spaces, capturing the balance between movement and stillness.

I'm proud to be a member of the Foyer Gallery Artists' Association in Ottawa. Joining this vibrant community of visual artists has been an important milestone in my artistic journey, providing opportunities to exhibit my work, connect with fellow artists, and continue growing as both a photographer and visual storyteller.

My goal: to create images that reveal the beauty, emotion, and perspective that often go unnoticed.
