The Backstory

Hello! I’m Cristian Medina, the lens behind Urban Wild Views. Creativity runs in my family. My father’s side carries a strong artistic vein that I proudly inherited. As a child, I loved sketching and drawing, but my passion for photography began about 20 years ago when I first left home. Back then, taking pictures was my way of recording new experiences, places, and people, not only to share with those I had left behind, but also to preserve the moments that mattered most.

My journey grew beyond the amateur stage when Ottawa became my hometown in 2018. I wanted to explore, discover new places, and connect with a community of like-minded people who shared my passion for visual storytelling.

For me, photography is more than capturing images. It’s about showing the world as I see it: the lines, patterns and colors that surround us.  It’s a way to transform ordinary moments and everyday life into perspectives that often go unnoticed.
